Description
Blatherwycke Mill is a disused watermill dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone with ashlar dressings and features a Welsh slate roof. The building has a rectangular plan and consists of two and three storeys. The main front has two storeys and includes a three-window range of arch-headed Gothick style casements with ashlar surrounds. There is a central plank door with a similar surround, leading up to a flight of steps. The roof is half hipped, with ashlar gable parapets and kneelers.
To the right, there is an attached two-window range that also features arch-headed Gothick style casements with glazing bars and ashlar surrounds. On the left side, there is an arch-headed cart entrance with a matching surround. This section has a half hipped roof similar to the main range but with lower eaves. The rear elevation of the main range rises to three storeys due to the sloping ground. It has a four-window range on the ground and first floors, with large cross casements featuring glazing bars under stone lintels with keyblocks. There are lunettes on the second floor, also with glazing bars, and a plank door to the left of centre along with a similar loading door above. Access to the wheelhouse is located to the right. The attached two-window range on the left is similar and consists of two storeys. Inside, there are remains of the drive shaft.
