Description
16 and 18 Duck End is a farmhouse that has been converted into two dwellings. It dates back to the 17th century and has undergone later alterations. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features a 20th-century interlocking concrete tile roof with coped gables and stone and rendered stacks at the ridge and ends.
The structure is two storeys high with an attic and has a three-window range. On the ground floor, there is a three-light small-paned casement window with a wooden lintel to the left, a central 20th-century porch leading to No. 16, and to the right, there is a two-light and a three-light casement window, which is situated above a blocked mullioned window. The first floor features a two-light window above the porch, flanked by three-light windows on either side. There are also two late 19th or early 20th-century two-light gabled dormer windows. The entrance to No. 18 is located in a one-storey addition to the left.
At the rear, there is a two-light chamfered stone mullioned window, possibly for the stairs, along with a three-light blocked window on the ground floor. The building has a 20th-century addition and two 20th-century dormers. The interior has not been inspected.
