Description
This building is a barn located approximately 14 meters southwest of Manor Farm Cottage. It is likely from the early 16th century and has been altered in the 18th and 19th centuries. The structure is built from regularly coursed and squared limestone and ironstone, topped with a roof made of corrugated metal and pantiles.
The barn features a central cart entrance on the left side and two stables with hay lofts above on the right. The cart entrance has a wooden lintel and is flanked by two-stage ashlar buttresses, with a similar buttress on the right. There is one 19th-century stable door and a similar plank door to the right, both under wooden lintels, with hay loft doors above them. A 19th-century brick buttress is located between the doors. The remains of a gable parapet can be seen on the left, and the pantile roof extends to the far right. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have some 18th-century roof trusses. This barn is included for its group value.
