Description
No. 35 (P.A. Tompkins) is a house and shop, now functioning as a shop, dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of stuccoed ironstone and has a slate roof. The building was originally likely designed with a three-unit plan and features two storeys with an attic. The façade has a four-window range that includes 19th-century sash and casement windows with moulded plaster surrounds, along with 19th-century shop fronts. Notable architectural details include a moulded plaster cornice and two roof dormers, as well as brick stacks located at the ridge and end of the building. Inside, the shop has some chamfered ceiling beams and remnants of an open fireplace.
