Description

This is an early 18th-century house, now used as a shop and offices. The exterior is of regular coursed ironstone, partly rendered, with a plain-tile roof. Originally designed with a two-unit plan, the house now has a two-storey elevation with a two-window range of sash windows. These windows retain their glazing bars and flat plaster surrounds; the ground floor windows have been replaced with 20th-century shop windows set within early 19th-century wooden surrounds. The central six-panel door, now partly glazed, has panelled reveals and a reeded wooden surround. A moulded plinth sits below the ground floor windows, and brick stacks are visible at both ends. The interior features an open fireplace. A second-storey extension, dating to the 19th century, was removed in the late 20th century. Later 20th-century extensions to the rear are not considered to have special architectural interest.
