Description
The Wellingborough War Memorial stands within the churchyard of All Hallows Church. Constructed of Clipsham stone, it is a hooded Calvary cross featuring figures of Christ and the Virgin Mary on either side. The cross rises from a tapering octagonal shaft with a square base, which sits upon a chamfered square plinth. The memorial is set upon a two-stepped octagonal base with platformed upper faces. The inscription "INVICTIA PAX" is carved in raised lettering on one face of the plinth. The upper step bears the inscription: "PRAY FOR THE GALLANT MEN/ WHO FROM THIS TOWN GAVE/ THEIR LIVES FOR TRUTH AND/ FREEDOM IN THE GREAT WAR."
