Description
Orient House is a building dating from 1886, originally designed as a house and now used as offices. It is constructed from squared coursed ironstone with ashlar dressings and features a slate roof. The building has a three-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic. The façade includes a four-window range with two-, three-, and six-light stone mullion windows, which have transoms on the first floor. To the left of the center, there is a 19th-century panelled door that has a four-centred head and a moulded stone surround. A large central stone dormer features a three-light stone mullion window, an ashlar gable parapet, and three finials. The ends of the building have ashlar gable parapets and stone stacks. A datestone is located above the central window on the first floor. There is a 20th-century extension at the rear that is not of special architectural interest. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included for its group value.
