Description

These are two buildings, numbers 22 and 24, located on the south side of Market Place. They likely date from the late 17th century. The buildings are constructed of stone, with number 22 featuring two flat-topped dormers. It has hung sash windows with glazing bars, including a three-light canted bay window on the first floor, also with hung sashes and glazing bars. A modern shop window and door are present on the ground floor. The roof is covered with Welsh slate. Number 24 has a painted stucco first floor and a brick eaves cornice set diagonally. The roof is covered with stone slates, and includes one hipped dormer. A three-light window with hung sashes and glazing bars is found on the first floor. A late 19th-century shop front with a cornice and consoles above two windows occupies the ground floor. A stone plinth is visible, alongside a passage doorway featuring a rectangular fanlight to the left. Both buildings have brick chimney stacks. The listed buildings in Market Place are considered to form a group.
