Description

The Town Hall is a two-story building constructed in 1830, built in the Tudor style. It has a squat, cruciform shape with steep gabled roofs of Welsh slate. The building is an important feature of the Market Place and contributes to the character of West Street, allowing only an oblique view from the east end of the Market Place. The stone mullioned windows are located on the first floor. Originally, the ground floor was open to function as a market, featuring four-centred arched heads over the bays, though these have been roughly sealed off. It is considered to be a building of group value.
