Description
This is a house located on the west side of Ecton High Street, dating from 1733. It was originally numbered 72 and 74 on Ordnance Survey maps. The house is constructed from squared coursed lias stone and has a slate roof. It follows a two-unit plan, with two storeys and a two-window front. The windows are casements with glazing bars; those on the ground floor have wooden lintels. A central 19th-century panelled door is flanked by a 20th-century window to the right. There is evidence of blocked doors to the right of the door and below a window to the left of the door. The gables have ashlar parapets and kneelers, with brick stacks at the ends. The rear of the house features similar casements. The interior, which has not been inspected, includes two open fireplaces with bressumers.
