Description

The Laurels is a mid-18th century house located on the west side of Ecton High Street. It is constructed of squared coursed lias stone with a slate roof, and follows a three-unit plan. The house has two storeys and a three-window front. The windows are casements, with those on the first floor having glazing bars; all are set beneath wooden lintels. There is a gable parapet to the right, where the house abuts an adjacent property, and remains of kneelers are visible to the left. Brick stacks are positioned at the ridge and end of the building. The rear elevation is similar, featuring a central 19th-century four-panelled door and a 19th-century stone lean-to on the far left. The interior was not inspected, but some ground floor rooms are noted to contain panelled shutters.
