Description
Bumble Bee Cottage is a house located on Main Street in Wakerley, originally listed as No. 5 (Tyke's Cottage). It dates from the early 18th century and 19th century. The building is constructed from regularly coursed limestone and features a roof made of pantiles and thatch. It was originally designed as a single-unit plan and is a single storey with an attic. The cottage has a two-window range with 19th-century casement windows under wooden lintels, and there is a similar casement window under an eyebrow dormer in the attic. The central door, also in the 19th-century style, is a plank door situated under a wooden lintel. At one end, there is a brick and stone stack. To the left, there is a 19th-century single-storey outbuilding with a pantile roof, which now forms part of the house. The interior has not been inspected.
