Description

Manor Farmhouse, dating back to the 17th century with later 18th and 19th century alterations, is a farmhouse originally of a two-unit plan, now comprising three units. Constructed from squared coursed limestone and brick, it has a Collyweston slate roof. The building is single-storey with an attic. The front features a three-window range; two 19th century casement windows are centrally placed and to the left, beneath weed lintels, and a 19th century wooden canted bay window is positioned to the far right. Two 19th century casement windows in the attic have stone gablets above them, and a similar casement to the far right is set under the eaves. A fielded panelled door, situated to the right of the centre, is set under a wood lintel. The farmhouse has ashlar ridge and end stacks, with moulded cornices. The left gable has been rebuilt in brick. Inside, there is an early 19th century staircase with a stick balustrade. Remnants of a 17th century fireplace pilaster are visible in the store room to the left of the entrance. Other interior features include four- and six-panelled doors, and a set of panelled window reveals. The hall features stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
