Description

The bridge in Barrowden, part of the parish, dates back to the medieval period and was widened in the 18th century. It is constructed from ashlar stone and features five pointed chamfered arches beneath five rounded arches. There are five cutwaters with broaches on both sides of the bridge. A carved head corbel is located over the second arch on the upstream side. The bridge has a stone-coped parapet along its length and on the ramps. It carries the road over the River Welland.
