Description
No. 2 Main Street is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed from regularly coursed limestone and features a thatch roof. The building has a two-unit plan and is a single storey with an attic. The front has two bays and a three-window arrangement of 19th-century casements with glazing bars, all set beneath wooden lintels. In the attic, there are two similar plain casements located under eyebrow dormers. The central window on the ground floor was originally a door. There are brick and stone stacks at both ends, and the right gable has a 19th-century casement under a wooden lintel. The entrance is located at the rear. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have remains of an open fireplace. The building is depicted on a map from 1772.
