Description

Grafton Park Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1696, as indicated by a diamond-shaped datestone on the south gable. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features a Collyweston stone slate roof with moulded stone ridge and end stacks. The building has three storeys at the front and two storeys at the rear, with four irregularly spaced bays. The ground floor includes a three-light window, a slate-roofed canted bay window, a 19th-century panelled and part-glazed door with an overlight set in a moulded architrave with cornice and panelled reveals, and another three-light window with overlights. The windows have wooden lintels. On the first floor, there are iron-framed gudgeon-hung casement windows with configurations of three, two, two, and three lights, while the second floor features four shallower three-light windows. Inside, the ground floor room to the left of the door has a shallow inglenook with a plain bressumer, and the adjacent room also has an exposed bressumer, although its fireplace has been partly filled in. Some panelled doors are present throughout the interior.
