Description
No. 17 on Winslow Road is a house dating from the 17th century, which has been significantly altered and extended in the 19th century. The rear bay features some timber framing, while the rest of the structure is made of brick. The front displays a red and white chequer pattern and has dentilled eaves. The 17th-century bay has a steeply pitched asbestos slate roof and a large chimney stack made of thin brick located at the junction with the front range. The front of the house has a hipped slate roof and a brick chimney on the right side. The rear bay is obscured by lean-to extensions. The front elevation consists of two storeys and two bays, featuring 5-pane sash windows with cut brick voussoir heads. The centre of the front has a blind panel with a similar head above a 5-panelled door, which is topped by a blind semi-circular fanlight set in a brick arch.
