Description
No. 77 Aston Street is a house dating from the 17th century, with some partial re-facing from the 19th century. It features a timber frame with square panels and angle braces, and the front and left sides are faced with later red brick. The roof is made of old tiles and has a partial catslide extending to the rear. The house is designed in a two-bay baffle entry style and has two storeys.
Notable architectural details include a dentil brick eaves cornice, a stepped parapeted gable end on the left, and an off-centre ridge stack above the entrance. The front has three windows, with three-light casements; two of these are located on the ground floor to the right and have applied painted recessed wooden lintels. A porch is situated between the first and second windows from the left, featuring a stepped parapeted gable, a six-panelled door with two upper glazed panels, a moulded architrave, and a gabled hood. Inside, there is a queen post truss with v-struts in the gable end to the right.
