Description
No. 25 Sheep Street is a small house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. The rear features some timber framing, while the front is constructed of chequered red and white brick. The house has a thatched roof and a central chimney stack made of thin brick, with a lobby entry. It is 1½ storeys high and has 2½ bays. The main bays are fitted with canted bay windows and 3-light leaded casements above, also under thatch. To the left, there is a half bay with a 19th-century 2-light window featuring a segmental head on the ground floor, and a small horizontal sliding sash above it. Between the main bays, there is a 4-panelled door that includes a rectangular fanlight and a wooden doorcase with minimal pilaster strips and a shallow cornice hood.
