Description

41 Sheep Street is a small house dating from the 17th century, which was refronted in the 19th century. The rear of the house features a timber frame with whitewashed brick infill, consisting of both 17th century and 19th century rat-trap bond. The front is made of red brick, which has been patched with white, and includes white brick segmental heads above the ground floor windows. There is a rendered plinth and a slate roof with a brick stack at the rear. The house has two storeys and two bays, with barred sash windows and a central ledged door that has a Phoenix fire insurance plaque above it. At the back, there is a small early 19th century wing made of whitewashed brick, which retains some timber studding.
