Description
Istra House (part) at the University of Buckingham is a house that has been converted into offices. It dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century and has undergone alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features a plain-tile roof with a brick ridge stack. It has a three-unit plan and is two stories high with a four-window range.
A 20th-century six-panel door is located to the right of the center, topped with a wood lintel. The center of both the ground and first floors features tripartite horned sash windows, also with wood lintels. On the left and right sides of the building, there are three-light casement windows on both floors, all of which have wood lintels. The arrangement of the windows has been changed, particularly on the first floor, where there is a blocked window to the right of the center and a blocked light to the left of the far left first-floor window. The door, tripartite sashes, and the far left first-floor window have brick jambs. The building also has cogged brick eaves.
