Description
This building, located at 97 Aylesbury Road, is a 17th-century cottage that has been altered over time. It features a timber frame with colourwashed brick infill and extensions, topped with a thatched roof that is hipped on the east side and half hipped on the west. There is a brick stack located behind the ridge to the left of the center. The north front has a door opposite the stack, which is sheltered by a thatched canopy. The windows are irregular casements with modern leaded glazing. To the right, there is a small brick outshot porch with a thatched roof that extends down. A later chimney is found on the right gable. The garden front includes one central dormer, a modern thatched bay window to the left, and a thatched kitchen extension to the right. Inside, the cottage features a large inglenook fireplace and exposed timber framing.
