Description

This is a house, subdivided in the 1990s into three separate dwellings, located on the south side of Aylesbury Road in Bierton with Broughton. The core of the building dates to the 17th century, and has undergone alterations since. It is timber framed with brick infilling. The west-facing elevation, which looks onto the churchyard, was refaced in the 18th century with red and blue brick, with a rubble stone plinth visible at ground level. The roof is tiled, with a chimney positioned near the north end of the ridge and another near the east eaves.

The house is two storeys high, originally spanning two and a half bays. The east elevation features a modern three-light transomed casement window in the south bay’s ground floor, a door and three-light casement window in the central bay, with a smaller, old leaded casement window above, and a door in the half bay to the north. A lower section, constructed of timber and brick and tiled, is attached at the north end, while an east wing projects at a right angle. This lower section has a two-stage tiled roof and a gabled dormer window.
