Description

Lower Farm Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century, with an extension added in the early 19th century. It is constructed of flint with brick dressings and features an old tile roof, along with a brick chimney shaft located between the right bays. The cottage is one storey with an attic and consists of three bays, with the right bay being from the early 19th century. There is a first floor band course. The left bays have three-light wooden casements that include single horizontal glazing bars, which were renewed in the 1970s. The ground floor windows have segmental heads, while the upper windows are located in eaves-line dormers with rendered gables. The right bay has a similar two-light window and a small single light that aligns with the chimney. There are paired wooden casements in the right gable, with the ground floor window featuring a brick hoodmould. The rear of the cottage has two doors and hoodmoulds over some windows. Additionally, there is a lower two-bay outbuilding at the right end, which has weatherboarding and corrugated iron cladding, topped with an old tile roof.
