Description

SP 8607 WENDOVER HIGH STREET south side 10/24 No.7 Woollerton House and attached gatepiers. 21/12/67 GV II Offices. C18 refronting of earlier building. Red brick, old tile roof, brick chimney with corbelled head, parapet with cornice band of brick in triangular arcaded pattern. 2-storeys, 7 bays of barred sash windows, 6-panel door in 3rd bay from LH with architrave and large wooden doorcase of fluted Doric pilasters, entablature with triglyph frieze, modillion cornice and pediment. Interior: LH ground floor room has C18 moulded timber chimneypiece, flanked by semicircular headed cupboards, moulded chair rail. RH room has modillion cornice. Gatepiers attached to the RH side of the house by a short length of brickwall, 2m high in English bond, pair of C18 brick gatepiers, cut into rusticated blocks with stone cappings and projecting pilasters on inner faces.
