Description

This is a group of three houses, originally built as a hotel in the 18th century, located on a corner plot fronting Aylesbury Road in Wendover. The building is constructed of brick with decorative brick arches, some featuring ornamental patterns beneath the arches. The roof is covered in old tiles and hipped at the corner, with brick chimneys and moulded wood eaves. The building sits on a raised plinth and has two storeys, with a former attic space from which dormers were removed in 1975.

The front elevation has five wide bays, each containing two windows separated by narrow brick recesses. A central bay features a carriage arch that has been filled in with a window on the ground floor, with a window above flanked by two narrower brick recesses. A doorway with stone steps is positioned between the first and second bays from the left. Ground floor sash windows are framed with architraves and have moulded brick cornices above the arches. First-floor sash windows are four panes wide and sit within the reveals. The side elevation facing Back Street has one bay with a pair of blank windows. The rear elevation was restored in 1976.
