Description

The Old Brewery, including the cast iron gates and railings, is a house and former brewhouse located on Fern Lane in Haddenham. It is dated 1846, although the brewhouse buildings may be older. The structure is built of witchert on a rubble plinth, with colourwashed and rendered surfaces; the front is cement rendered, colourwashed, and masonry scribed. The brewhouse range features rendered witchert and slate roofs.

The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with a projecting right-hand wing. The central entrance has a four-panel door with a fanlight above, set within a stylized columned and corniced porch. There are sash windows throughout, and the left bay includes a ground floor flat-roofed canted bay window. Above the door is a blank window recess with a date plaque reading '1846'. The right wing has a narrow door and a sash window on the return, with additional sashes lacking glazing bars on the front. The roofs are hipped and covered with slate, and the window sills on the main front have cast iron surrounds.

The property features a cast iron front gate, posts, and fencing, all designed in an enriched foliage style. At the rear, the brewhouse ranges have ground floor windows with iron bars and unbarred upper windows.
