Description
Hermitage Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that was altered in the late 18th century. It features a timber frame with brick infill, which is exposed at the rear, in the left-hand gable, and at the front corner posts. The front is finished with whitewashed roughcast, while the gable is made of whitewashed brick. The roof is half-hipped and thatched, with a central chimney. The cottage has one-and-a-half storeys and consists of two bays. The front has double-pointed, two-light casements on the ground floor, and 20th-century paired barred casements in the thatch. There is a central board door set in a pointed arch, with a round arched panel above it. The gable features a similar pointed three-light casement on the ground floor and a 20th-century casement above.
