Description
The Little Granary and The Old Bakehouse are a pair of houses located in Brill, with the right side dated 1740 on a stone plaque, while the left bay is from the later 18th century. The 1740 sections are constructed of red and vitreous brick, featuring red brick quoins, window surrounds, a moulded plinth, a first-floor band course, and eaves. The building has a tiled roof and a brick chimney on the left side, with some rubble stone visible at the rear. It is two storeys tall. The wider bay on the right has altered openings with 20th-century tripartite sash windows, while the left bays contain 4-pane sash windows. There is a six-panelled, top-lit door with a 20th-century wooden cornice hood situated between the right bays.
An early 19th-century extension on the right is made of chequer brick with a hipped roof and features a 4-pane sash window above a garage entry that was formerly used for ovens. The late 18th-century bay on the left is built in a similar style, with a 20th-century tile roof, 4-pane sashes with cambered heads, and a 3-pane sash window to the right above a six-panelled, top-lit door set in an architrave frame with a large 20th-century cornice hood. There are also 20th-century extensions at the rear. The earlier part of the building has stone steps leading down to a cellar, which includes a blocked two-light stone window.
