Description

No. 30 Main Street is a 16th century T-plan house with later extensions, which was remodeled in the early 20th century. The exterior features whitewashed roughcast, likely covering a timber frame. The gables are adorned with tile-hanging over timber framing and herringbone brick infill, topped with old tile roofs. A central chimney made of thin brick has arched niches on either side, with the upper part rebuilt, and a similar stack is found on the original rear wing.

The house is two storeys high with three 20th century bays. The outer bays are gabled and feature two-storey square bay windows with hipped tile roofs, wooden mullions and transoms, leaded lights, and half-timbering between the storeys. The center has a lean-to tiled roof over a single-storey bay window, flanked by narrow verandahs. On the first floor, there is a two-light leaded casement window with a moulded brick sill. The entrance is located in a gabled porch at the center of the left side.

Inside, the house includes stop-chamfered spine beams. The central chimney has moulded stone fireplaces with four-centred arches on both the first and ground floors, while the ground floor left room features late 17th to 18th century black and white diamond flags, with some timber framing visible.
