Description
The Cottage, Fairview, and Cassoria is a row of three cottages dating from the 17th century, which have been altered over time. The front of the cottages has been rebuilt and is finished in roughcast and whitewash. They feature an old tiled roof with a central chimney made of thin brick that has an offset head, an 18th-century chimney at the front right corner, and a later brick chimney at the front left. The cottages are two storeys high and consist of four bays.
The left bays have 20th-century wooden top-light casements, while the third bay has three-light wooden casements with single horizontal glazing bars. The right bay also has three-light wooden casements, with the upper part barred and the lower part featuring 20th-century glazing. There are two 20th-century doors in the second bay and another in the right bay. All ground floor openings have segmental heads. The right bay includes a chamfered spine beam, heavy joists, and a corner fireplace, while the second bay displays irregular timbering. The cottages are included for their group value.
