Description

The school shop at Stowe School, originally known as Her Ladyship's Menagerie and later the Duke's Museum, was built in 1781, likely by Vincenzo Valdre. This neo-classical building features a central block with three bays topped by a dome, showcasing an Ionic pilaster order. The central doorway is arched and flanked by niches, while the parapet is adorned with four urns. The building also includes quadrant wings with Ionic columns and pedimented end pavilions.
