- Large structure in classical style with domed glass roofs, in three sections. Centre one-storey block of sevens bays with twelve windows and door on axis. Pediment over three middle bays. Red brick. Walls defined by rusticated pilasters supporting entablature with brick mouldings. A pair of round arched windows with moulded stone architraves and pilasters to each bay. Central round arched doorway with side lights giving Venetian effect. Similar stone dressings. In spandrels carved brick figures and plants representing Horticulture. Low pitched glass roof in outer parts and tall central glass dome with moulded wood cornice and console bracketed soffit. Low central wood cupola with figure of Eros at finial. Five-window set back side wings in similar style with domed glass roofs and small, square cupolas. Long, fifteen-window west return. East return shorter with later building abutting. Inside shows riveted cast iron construction with round arches resting on slender, quasi-Corinthian iron columns. In east wing a central feature, figure of a nymph resting on a dolphin, in white marble on grey marble oval plinth.
