Description

No. 4 Main Street is a small house dating from the 18th century, with some alterations. It is constructed of roughly coursed mixed rubble and features very large irregular quoins. The roof is made of graduated slate with stone ridge slates. The house has a double-depth, double-fronted plan and stands two-and-a-half storeys high, with two almost symmetrical windows. The square-headed doorway is offset to the left of centre and has a part-glazed panelled door. This doorway is flanked by square windows that contain renewed 16-pane sashes. On the first floor, there are tall segmental-headed windows with rubble voussoirs and renewed 12-pane sashes, along with a square 20-pane fixed window positioned above and between them. The house also features corniced gable chimneys. The rear and interior of the building have not been inspected.
