Description
This is a small house located on Main Street, Sedbergh. It likely dates from the later 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The house is built of sandstone rubble laid in courses, with large, irregular quoins, and has a roof of stone slate. Its layout is in an "L" shape, consisting of a main section running parallel to the street and a rear wing to the left.
The property has two storeys and four windows. The façade features a doorway in the second bay with a 20th-century door, a 16-pane hornless sash window to the left and two to the right, all with rock-faced monolith lintels. Matching sashed windows are situated on the first floor above these, with the right-hand windows being horned. A further 12-pane hornless sash window sits above the doorway. All windows have plain reveals and exposed boxes. A corniced gable chimney is on the left-hand side of the building. The rear of the house and its interior have not been inspected.
