Description
Hudson's Town Head Farmhouse is a former farmhouse and barn, now functioning solely as a farmhouse. It dates from the 17th century and has later additions. The exterior features pebbledash with stone dressings and a stone slate roof, and it has a gable end facing the street. The house is two storeys high with one bay. The entrance on the right has a plain surround and a four-panel door. To the left, there is a ground floor four-light chamfered window with cavetto mullions and square caps, fitted with 20th-century casements. The upper floor has a chamfered window that was originally three-light but is now two-light, featuring a repositioned central cavetto mullion and sashes with glazing bars. The left-hand side has quoins, and there is a ridge stack at the right-hand gable end.
Attached to the right is the former barn, which is also two storeys but has a slightly lower roof ridge than the house and consists of two bays. The left-hand ground floor window has a plain surround and a four-pane casement. To the right, there is a lower two-light chamfered window with a cavetto mullion and 20th-century casements. On the upper floor, there are two single-light windows with plain surrounds and sashes with glazing bars. The right-hand side also features quoins and a gable end stack.
