Description
Holly Laithe is a house and barn, now functioning as a farmhouse, dating from the 17th century with later alterations. It is constructed of coursed squared stone and ashlar, topped with a graduated stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and features six bays, with a later barn attached at a right angle to the north end. The structure includes quoins and three door openings, two of which have been inserted, while one has a chamfered quoined surround.
On the ground floor, there is a three-light chamfered mullioned window in the left bay and a four-light similar window in the center, with other square windows in plain stone surrounds. The first floor has a flat-faced, three-light chamfered mullioned window to the left, a smaller two-light similar window to its right, and a larger similar window further right. There are three additional rectangular window openings with plain stone surrounds, one of which is blind. The building features stone copings and has the stump of a ridge stack located between the third and fourth bays. Inside, there are three plain chamfered stone fireplaces.
