Description
The barns at Manor House are a pair of structures dating from the late 17th century, with some later alterations. They are built from coursed dressed stone with ashlar dressings and feature raised open gables topped with stone slate roofs.
The northern barn has a main east front that includes a central chamfered arched cart opening fitted with double plank doors, with joggled voussoirs supporting the arch. To the right, there is a chamfered stone doorway with a plank door, and to the left, a smaller chamfered opening. The interior of this barn has a simple roof supported by original trusses, with renewed collars and queen posts.
The southern barn, which faces the roadside, has been truncated to accommodate road widening. Its east gable features a pair of ashlar windows with chamfered mullions that are now blocked. Inside, this barn retains its original roof structure, complete with passing purlins.
