Description

Church End Farmhouse and Church End Cottage is a farmhouse with several 18th century builds and a 20th century extension on the right. The cottage has a late 19th century front but earlier origins. The farmhouse is constructed of slobbered rubble with a slate roof and has rendered ridge stacks at the former gable ends. It is two storeys high and has four bays. The two left-hand bays feature 18th century windows with flush surrounds, including a three-light window with recessed flat-faced mullions on the ground floor and a similar two-light window above. There is a four-panel door in a plain raised surround between the right-hand bays, which also have plain raised surrounds. The first floor has two windows, and the ground floor has similar but larger windows, all with 20th century glazing bars. The single-bay 20th century extension is located to the right. The cottage to the left was refronted in the late 19th century and is made of dressed stone with a slate roof. It has two bays, with a door to the right featuring a plain raised surround and a cornice above. The cottage also has sash windows with plain raised surrounds, as well as ridge and left-hand gable stacks. This building is included for its group value.
