Description

Clock Cottage is a house dating to the late 18th century, with origins in the 17th century. It is constructed of watershot rubble stone, limewashed, with stone dressings and a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and a double-fronted appearance. The front features C19 sash windows set within square stone jambs on square bases, with plain impost blocks and a lintel. Originally, there was a 6-panel door, which has since been altered. The windows have three lights with square surrounds and slightly recessed flat-faced mullions. A blocked doorway is present to the right, featuring a massive lintel dated 1669. The eaves have modillions. Gable end stacks are visible. At the rear, there are two-light, chamfered mullioned windows at both levels.
