Description
The K6 telephone kiosk in Kirkby Malham is a standard design made of cast iron, painted red overall. It features long horizontal glazing in the door and sides, with the crowns on the top panels being applied rather than perforated. There are rectangular white display signs that read "TELEPHONE" beneath the shallow-curved roof. The kiosk is in good, near original condition, though it has modernised internal equipment.
This telephone kiosk is located at the center of the small village of Kirkby Malham, on the east side of the narrow Main Street. It is directly overlooked by two listed domestic properties to the north: the 17th-century Rose Cottage and the 18th-century Lambert’s Halt.
