Description
The memorial for Thomas Barningham, located about 10 meters south-west of the Church of St Mary the Virgin, dates from around 1843. It features an iron plate with an inscription commemorating Thomas Barningham, who died in 1843, set on a stepped base. The memorial is flanked by Tuscan colonettes that support a frieze, and it retains its cornice, urn finials, and pediment, although these elements are now detached. The grave is enclosed by an iron rail with balusters decorated with acanthus motifs and urn finials, all resting on a chamfered stone plinth. At the opposite end of the rail from the iron plate, there is a memorial stone for Thomas Barningham, who died in 1879.
