Description

The Surrender Peat Store is a peat storage building dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble and measures 188 feet by 20 feet. At the time of the last survey, the building was in a ruinous state, with only the gable end walls and one pair of piers from the bay divisions still standing. It is also designated as a scheduled Ancient Monument, number 1228.
