Description
Pratt's House and attached byre is a farmhouse and byre built under one roof, dated 1684. It is constructed of rubble with a stone slate roof and has two storeys, with the roof having been raised. The building features five first floor windows. There is a boarded door in the fourth bay, which has a chamfered quoined surround and a triangular soffit to the lintel inscribed with 'TP 1684' and 'AJP' on the left jamb. The windows are double-chamfered mullioned types.
On the ground floor, there is a large tractor opening on the left, a fire window, a three-light window, and a two-light window to the right of the door. Part of the ground-floor elevation is obscured by a 20th-century lean-to extension. The first floor includes a two-light window, a fire window, the remains of a two-light window, a light vent above the door, and the remains of another two-light window. There is also a shallow stair turret with a single-light window at the rear. To the right of the main house is the byre, which features an early 18th-century surround to its doorway.
