Description

The Priory is a house dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is constructed of brick with a roof of black glazed pantiles. The main facade is of two storeys and a dormer attic, spanning four bays. A panelled door is located to the right of centre, set behind a flat porch with reeded columns and engaged columns. To the right of the door are tripartite sash windows on both floors, each under a gauged skewback arch. To the left are matching tripartite sashes on both floors, with a single sash window terminating the facade to the west. A dentil eaves cornice sits below a gabled roof, which is punctuated by two low-pitched gabled dormers with casements. An internal east gable end stack is present, along with a partly external western gable end stack.

A two-storey hipped block was added to the rear in the early 19th century, comprising three bays with two tall sash windows to the ground floor and a half-glazed door from the 20th century. The first floor features three smaller sashes. All windows have glazing bars and gauged skewback arches. A dentil eaves cornice runs along the top, above a slate roof.

A one-storey and dormer attic cross wing extends north from the west end of the main block, featuring one door and two sash windows on the ground floor, and one gabled dormer in the roof.

Internally, the cellar features bridging beams with chamfered and tongue-stopped ends. Patches of 17th-century brickwork remain exposed. The roofs consist of principals, purlins, and collars.
