Description

The St. Olave's Marsh Drainage Pump is a drainage windpump built in 1910 and restored in 1980. It features a trestle type design with a square tapering tower made up of four timber posts that stand on concrete piers. The sides of the tower are weatherboarded and tarred, and there is a doorway on the west side. At the top, there is a gabled timber cap that includes a windshaft and fan cradle. The stocks, sails, and Suffolk fantail were added during the restoration. Inside, there is a scoop-wheel housed in a timber casing on the south side, which has wooden starts. All the machinery is intact and made of cast iron, except for the timber upright shaft.
