Description

Priory Farmhouse is a farmhouse that consists of two sections. The southern part is a brick and tile structure built in the early 19th century, which underwent alterations in the late 20th century. The northern section is made of brick and flint and has origins from the post-Reformation period, constructed on an earlier monastic site that reused materials from St. Olave's Priory. This part was significantly altered in 1986 and features a thatched roof.

The 16th-century block has two storeys and is entered on the east side through an arched moulded brick doorway with a hood mould, located to the left. A similar doorway that was once on the right has been blocked. There is a 20th-century door within the original doorway, and a central three-light casement window from 1986, along with two similar two-light casements on the first floor. The roof is gabled.

On the west side, the farmhouse is faced with brick, featuring ground floor French windows to the right and two two-light windows on the first floor, all dating from 1986. Many of the bricks used are re-used medieval materials. Inside, two bridging beams remain from the original structure, but the rest of the interior has been completely updated in the 20th century.

The 19th-century block also has two storeys and a gabled roof with a central ridge stack. It features 20th-century casements and doorways placed at regular intervals. This section connects to the two remaining rooms of Jerningham's house, which is located north of the refectory of St. Olaves Priory. Sir Henry Jerningham purchased the priory during the Dissolution.
