Description
Cuddons is a house dating from the late 17th century to the early 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a steeply-pitched pantile roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a facade that is three windows wide, although the bays are slightly uneven. The ground floor has sash windows with glazing bars and segmental arches above the openings, with two arches featuring flush keyblocks. The doorway, which is slightly off-centre to the right and opposite the stack, has a 6-panel door with two upper glazed panels. It is framed by a 20th-century door surround that includes a reeded and dentilled frieze and a leaded canopy.
On the first floor, there are three 3-light casement windows with leaded glazing and segmental heads on the outer bays. The building has a brick dentil eaves course and parapet gables that are topped with square base finials and moulded brick eaves corbels. A tall axial stack with a rendered base and moulded brick top is also present. There is a small two-storey projection on the west gable, which includes a 2-light attic casement in the gable. The east gable features a platband at the base, a ground floor sash window, and double doors leading to a 20th-century conservatory. Additionally, there are two 2-light first floor casements with leaded glazing and a 3-light attic casement. To the north, there is a lower 2.5-storey range that is rendered and colourwashed.
