Description
Nos 12 and 14 Thwaite Road are elderly persons bungalows built in 1965 by the former Lodden ROC, designed by architects Tayler and Green. They are constructed from light yellow-grey brick with an orange-red pantile roof and wooden bargeboards. The bungalows feature tall brick chimney stacks with pitched concrete copings and clay pots, and have a wide frontage with three-light steel casement windows. Together with Nos 16-20, they create a 'proscenium' that frames Windmill Green and are connected to it by screen walls. These houses also serve to screen the long back gardens of the properties on Windmill Green. While the planning of these bungalows is noteworthy, there are no internal features of special merit.
