Description
The barn immediately west of Hollybush Farmhouse is a 17th-century structure that has been converted into a commercial store. It is built of red brick and features a steeply-pitched thatched roof. The barn has a three-stead rectangular plan, with a central doorway in the south wall that has been reduced and infilled with 20th-century brick and a door. The original opening is flanked by brick pilasters that have weathered tops. Each outer bay contains three ventilation loops. The gables have parapets with moulded brick eaves corbels and ventilation loops at the gable apex, along with a two-course platband at the base of the gables. There is a pantiled lean-to on the east gable and a 20th-century gabled store to the west. A large 20th-century storage building is attached to the north side. Inside, there is an inserted intermediate floor, and the roof features two tiers of staggered butt-purlins with diagonal windbracing. The barn is included for its group value.
